There's been so many new additions to the *bisou* bonbon & *bisou* rose family that we can't help but be overwhelmed! Things are moving slowly but surely up the hill and it joys us so so much to know that we've come so far after a year.

We got some custom badges made for ourselves to wear at markets / bazaars and decided to make some baby ones too! In the spirit of *bisou* bonbon's 1st year anniversary we will be giving out baby bonbon badges to purchases over RM120 and also repeat sales customers.

We've been so excited lately with a new project up our sleeves: making candles!!

We could not locate a local supplier for soy wax and had to get it shipped in from UK instead. Soy wax is so.. smooth, brittle and creamy. The flakes are so gentle and they melt (on heat) in seconds! We made a blend to encourage longer burning time and firmer consistency of wax.

Anchored the wicks to the bases with some multi-purpose glue. We then 'kepit' the other ends between disposable chopsticks to hold them upright.

Oops!!

Voila! We're so proud of them :) All we need are some labels...

Our candles scented in hints of Pine + Lavender will be available in our Pink Parisien christmas care Package No.2 :) along with our First-Aid Salve and a pair of Mozzie-A-GoGo in a super cool pail!

We got an urgent email from a maid-of-honour for a batch of custom Petites Joies. Unfortunately we were unable to fulfill her request as custom orders (especially those dealing with colour) require a 2 month pre-order period. We had just finished a batch of Little Joys and suggested she take a look to see if it any would suit her fancy. She ended up taking the entire LOT! We were beyond words!

It was all about delivery that day. Little Joys in the morning and other packages in the afternoon.

We jumped into the car, turbo-ed to Klang and made delivery at 01:45! The bride is truly fortunate to have such a sweet maid-of-honour like that.

It was a spur of the moment but we decided to jump in the Threadszoo bandwagon and be part of the picnic bazaar!

Ecoba proved to be the perfect venue what with the luscious trees and pebble grounds. Not to mention wooden picnic tables along with brick + mortar walkway.

It's Antoine's first time out of the bowl and he's bewildered!

Coton says he makes our Mozzie-A-GoGo look good just by standing beside them!

working holiday

A cityscape at Carcosa Seri Negara turned into a working holiday when we decided to perform a photoshoot for *bisou* bonbon. We just couldn't resist taking full advantage of their elegant boudoir and bath :) Ahh stepping into the royal salle de bain and wondering if the Queen ever washed her face using those golden taps was such an exquisite thought! We brought flowers, herbs and lotsa of cake stands...

We could not find decent shots on the digital camera and turned to Instagram instead. The results were magic!

These are some of the shots taken before we turned to the iPhone. Enjoy!

We couldn't allow the flowers to go to waste and ran ourselves a lavender-rose bath. Looking out the open white shutter windows into lush green forest in what is the middle of Kuala Lumpur city as the whiff of lavender permeated our senses made it the BEST SOAK we ever had!

digi green bazaar

Just after Chic Pop we received a heartfelt invitation from a previous customer (or as he puts it so nicely 'proprietor') of *bisou* bonbon to a Green Bazaar at the Digi headquarters! We couldn't pass up such a wonderful opportunity to display our wares in what we've gathered to be a very exotic working place.

Indeed the place was unprecedented.. what with the open space, big-ass fans (literally) and zero cubicles. I heard that all you need to do is to find a space to plug in your notebook and whazam(!) that's office. Watching the waterfall trickle into their man-made canal made us wish we could work in such a refreshing environment.

Oooh!

We forgot to bring our stands which called for a single-storey display. Not something we were used to but it did offer a good mix to our usual template!

Well we certainly missed you :)

It was abit of a gloomy afternoon over at Chic Pop but hopefully y'all found some sunshine over at BonBonniere!

The crowd was slightly subdued but we took advantage of the mild ambience to explore the market and catch up with bazaar friends (as well as alot of shopping!). We were also graced by presence of old and new BonBon babydolls (yup, that's you *wink*). Merci beaucoup for dropping by BonBonniere and picking up a Petite Joie or two along with our ooh-la-la *bisou* bonbon bath and body care! We cannot thank you enough for showing us support and allowing us to continue to express our creativity and passion for natural handmade toilletries.

This marks a great milestone for *bisou* bonbon. We are very grateful from the bottom of our hearts for our lovely customers and the attention given by the media. Merci beaucoup.. Not forgetting friends and family who have offered moral support and time in exchange of nothing. We are so touched by everyone's love. Thank you thank you again. We sound like we've just won The Golden Globes, don't we?

When we tried to explain to our sister what Selangor Times was, she equated it to the London Evening Standard. Obviously ST is not really of that scale but it's a nice fuzzy feeling to know that we're in Malaysia's version of the Evening Standard!

the inspiration behind cho cho san

We bought a Butterfly Pea plant from Bettr Weekends afew moons ago.

It's now a full-blown Clittoria bush *giggles*

This perennial creeper is native to tropical Asia and is relatively easy to grow (it survived our definitely-not-green fingers!). It's commonly used to colour the Nyonya kuih ketan and Kelantanese nasi kerabu :) Their deep blue petals are rich with anthocyanin which exudes anti-oxidant flavonoids that combat against free-radicals!

One morning, as we stared out our window onto the blue ladies, we were suddenly reminded of Cho-Cho-San of Puccini's Madame Butterfly! Butterfly Pea.. Madame Butterfly.. coincidence? We don't think so. Serendipity we say! Ahh... Cho-Cho-San. We found her to be a naive little girl with such unwavering love and true Japanese grit.

So we whipped up a small batch of ground Japanese rice and adzuki beans along with the other *bisou* bonbon body scrub goodness like shea butter, Manuka honey and the lot resulting in a delicate Asian body scrub.

Piece de resistance!

We're so glad to say we're Urbanscapes virgins no more. It was such a carnival out there...! We wish we took more pictures but the heat got to us and we fizzed out by early afternoon *giggle* Despite what felt like the Arizona sun, we were thoroughly joyed by your presence and would like to express a heartfelt MERCI BEAUCOUP to those who dropped by the booth and brought some *bisou* bonbon / petite joies goodies home. It's sweet people like y'all that makes bazaars so much fun :)

T'was a summer party in our lil' *BonBonniere*!

Imagine pulling wooden chairs out to the pebble paths overlooking a festival on a Parisian jardin. That's probably what our Limited Edition Scrubs was feeling..!

Mozzie-A-GoGo made their merry debut that day! 'Twas a big fave amongst those who were about to hit the field that night / outdoorsy folks / active kids / sportsmen-women and a young lady who was about to embark on the kelip-kelip boat ride!

Just like it did before, our Lemon-Mint Lip Scrub stole the show :D

We knew it was a special day when a new friend came out to play... meet Pivoine (Peony) :) She's the reason for the unicorn dust overload! You can get your own at Le Petit Cirque! Lyssa makes the most divine creatures out of clay :)

Why do we love our body scrub?

First thing first, we use only Himalayan salt in our body scrub. We are proud to claim that everything in your scrub jar is 100% Himalayan salt and we do not mix it with other properties (e.g table salt etc). We use quality-grade carrier oils, butters and essential oils in our products. You will find that we try hard to squeeze in as much goodies as we can into a jar.. we’re talking manuka honey, shea butter, sweet almond oil, grape seed oil. We firmly believe good things shouldn’t come with a massive pricetag which is why we always strive to keep our prices competitive. It’s not about the money-money-money, we just want to make a kick-ass body scrub for you and ourselves... oh that and the world dance :)

Are your products organic?

According to Wikipedia: Organic farming is the form of agriculture that relies on techniques such as crop rotation, green manure, compost and biological pest control to maintain soil productivity and control pests on a farm. Organic farming excludes or strictly limits the use of manufactured fertilizers, pesticides (which include herbicides, insecticides and fungicides), plant growth regulators such as hormones, livestock antibiotics, food additives, and genetically modified organisms.

Basically a product can only be called organic if every single ingredient in the product has been obtained via the route as mentioned above. There are standards of regulations and certifications materials must adhere to in order to be deemed organic. As we’re unable to obtain organic certifications of ALL the ingredients used in our products we will not claim so. We are, though, 100% natural and free of artificial fragrance, preservatives and colouring.

Found this on an online garage sale on Lowyat forum and am in the process of acquiring it. Affordable coffee grinders are rare in KL so imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this chap's site lelong-ing it off post-impulsive buy: he imagined he would be making an espresso for himself each morning ;) I will need an adapter but I don't think that's a big problem.

I can't wait to create something new for the *bisou* bonbon line with the grinder. Perhaps a facial scrub could be in the making after all...

Found some loofah at my grandmother's backyard (you can only eat so much gourd)! Gathered some and removed their impurities. Soaked them in '7 Flowers' oil before setting them out in the sun to dry.

Just wanted to thank each and every one of you for the kind support extended to us at *bisou* bonbon & *bisou* rose! With your purchases, we have managed to raise enough to host a very fun McDonald's party for the lovely children at Trinity Orphanage.

My father sponsored the clown and Michelle, our booth fairy, paid for the face painter. Also the rest of our friends took time out from their schedule to help ferry the kids from the orphanage to the venue. We tried to keep the cost as low as we can due to the tight budget. Some friends came over to offer morale support and one even shoved money into my hand to help cover the costs of little gifts for the children! We are so touched. You're all AWESOME people!
